about
Five summers of having butterfly citizens living in my stomach. The song was heavily inspired by the chemistry of a romantic relationship. Each butterfly represents one summer spent with then loved one. By fifth summer, both the loved one and the butterfly (representing the hormonal aspect of love) are gone. The hormones (butterflies) aren't enough to keep you for more than just few summers together.
lyrics
First summer was the one, when it all has begun,
The butterfly sets it's wings,
The second was the one with what's love all about,
The butterfly, oh it felt so mine,
A-ah, I've rented my stomach to butterfly,
U-uh, co-owning my heart was for you,
Third summer was the one which we wanted to go on,
The butterfly starts it's gentle glide,
The forth one was one with love taken for granted,
The butterfly has seamlessly landed,
A-ah, I've rented my stomach to butterfly,
U-uh, co-owning my heart was for you,
Fifth summer was the one with the loveless tone,
The butterfly and you both were gone,
First summer starts all,
The second's pure love,
The third we just want to go on and on,
Then it feels granted, the butterfly is landing,
By fifth both of you go,
By fifth both of you go,
I've rented my stomach to butterfly,
Co-owning my heart was for you,
A-ah, I've rented my stomach to butterfly,
U-uh, co-owning my heart was for you,
Co-owning my heart was for you,
Co-owning my heart was for you.
